About Chenille Patches

Chenille (French for "loop) is an embroidery technique which produces a looped finish very similar to that of a looped-pile carpet. Chenille patches and awards are one of the most prestigious and traditional awards a student will receive.

These patches, when placed on a letter jacket provide distinction and pride!

A chenille patch is composed of three components:

  1. The the chenille embroidery
  2. A piece of scrim-felt through which the chenille has been embroidered
  3. A scrim-felt base or foundation on which the finished chenille is mounted
